PREMARITAL AGREEMENTS
We understand how difficult a divorce can be to a family. The children, the marital estate, and the future are usually at stake.
A contentious divorce handling by an inexperienced attorney can wipe out the resources and equity of both spouses and leave everyone bitter, unhappy, and broke. Our firm takes a different approach to divorce. We encourage clients to mediate their differences and resolve their issues with minimal court intervention. This helps both parties, as well as the children, avoid the emotional pain and difficulty of a contentious and expensive divorce proceeding.
There are cases, however, which do require an aggressive approach. These cases must be resolved in court. Our firm has the knowledge and litigation experience to protect its clients’ best interests. Our firm has years of litigation experience in family law and will aggressively represent you in court.
Most importantly, we care about our clients. We keep them informed and we counsel and advise them through the “ups and downs” of a difficult divorce proceeding. We are available 24 hours a day to assist our clients in the event an emergency arises “after hours.”
We have also helped many clients enforce visitation rights that they are entitled to by law. We ensure that a former spouse cannot deny visitation illegally.
The State of Illinois recently enacted a grandparents’ visitation statute which gives grandparents the legal right to visit their grandchildren. We have represented grandparents who seek visitation with their grandchildren. Grandparents have rights too, and we help protect those rights.
Child support is another of our areas of expertise. Our attorneys have helped spouses who need assistance in establishing and enforcing child support from a former spouse. Additionally, we help clients receive financial contributions from a former spouse for their children’s day care and medical expenses, as well as school tuition and college expenses.
